CT WINDS STRAND 2000 PEOPLE ON CRUISE SHIP

CAPE TOWN – Gale force winds have stranded 2 000 people on board a luxury cruise ship at the Cape Town harbour.

The Ship was due to leave for Walvis Bay in Namibia yesterday but was forced to remain in the harbour due to strong winds. 

Unfortunately for the 2 000 passengers on board all the ships shops and casinos are off limit due to alleged port authority restrictions 

“If they allowed the shops and casino to be open, we could function normally until Monday, but now we’re stuck. In addition, immigration doesn’t want to let us off the ship and the captain doesn’t want to let the ship out of the harbour because of the wind.” said passenger Fred Hofman.

The South African Weather Office have warned Cape Town residents that gale force winds will continue for the remainder of the week.

Die Burger reported of winds ranging from 100km/h and 120km/h in the Mother City on Thursday and printed pictures of a woman being blown by the strong gusts.
