Isaac 'Shakes' Kungwane

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder and Supersport presenter Isaac ‘Shakes’Kungwane passed away in hospital on Wednesday. According to a report on Eyewitness News Kungwane had been in and out of hospital in the last month. Exact cause of death is still unclear.

“We’re all pretty stunned. He was a legendary footballer, a lovely guy and a really popular TV man much loved both in the building and beyond,” said Supersport spokesperson Clinton van der Berg.

 

 

Kungwane began his football career playing for Jomo Cosmos in the 1980s, he also played for Pretoria City and Manning Rangers during the course of his career. He retired from football in 2002.

He is survived by his wife Precious and three children.
