R150 000 Reward for abducted PE schoolteacher

Twenty-eight-year old Jayde Panayiotou was allegedly abducted by two men shortly after she spoke to her friend at 6:30am yesterday morning. An hour and a half later, an undisclosed amount of cash was withdrawn from her bank account.

Eastern Cape police continued their search for the missing Port Elizabeth school teacher who was allegedly abducted outside her home on Tuesday morning, The Herald reported on Wednesday.

Twenty-eight-year old Jayde Panayiotou was allegedly abducted by two men shortly after she spoke to her friend at 6:30am yesterday morning. An hour and a half later, an undisclosed amount of cash was withdrawn from her bank account.

According to the report, family members upped the reward for her safe return to R150 000.

Last night police found an abandoned Mazda 323 believed to have been used in the abduction in New Brighton. Forensic experts were still searching the vehicle.

The K9-Unit and a police helicopter were called in to help with the search concentrated around bushy areas between Port Elizabeth and KwaNnobuhle.
