Measles vaccination drive intensifies

The Western Cape Health Department’s vaccination drive is now being expanded.

Now, schools and  crèches will be prioritised, with over 15,000 children in the Drakenstein and Stellenbosch already vaccinated.

This follows an outbreak in Stellenbosch at the beginning of the month.

The department’s Jo-Anne Otto says, “It’s very important that parents note that campaigns do not replace routine vaccinations, so even if your child is due to get their nine month, or 12 month measles shot please visit the clinic anyway.”
