While the CRL Rights Commission holds hearings into the deaths of young men at initiation schools in South Africa, the families of the victims want those responsible brought to justice.
Traditional leaders, police and National Prosecuting Authority will also be giving testimony at the commission, EWN reports.
Almost 600 initiates have died in the Eastern Cape because of illegal initiation schools in the last three years.
One family member of a victim told EWN; “Initiation schools were good before but right now they’re not. I ask that they close down all initiation schools. We no longer want them.”
Families say that children were abducted and tortured.
