A postmortem will be carried out on the body of a woman discovered wrapped in a carpet on Tuesday in Lavender Hill, Cape Town.
The police’s Frederick van Wyk says: “Anyone with information about this murder are requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Mazel Dlamini on 084 312 4472 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.”
A body of a female was found in the street in which 13-year-old Rene-Tracy Roman lives.
Roman has been missing for several days.
The body was discovered in a Wendy house.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirmed that an unidentified female’s body had been found.
The half naked female’s hands and feet were tied.
“The age of the deceased is unknown at this stage,” van Wyk said.
Now the parents of the missing teen fear that it might be their daughter’s body.
Roman’s stepfather, Mervyn Jacobs, told the Daily Voice that the family wasn’t allowed to view the body.
“We weren’t allowed into the yard and we couldn’t see the body, but there might be a strong possibility that it is Rene,” Jacobs said.
He went on to say, “Police hasn’t said anything so we don’t want to jump to our own conclusions. We do hope that it is not her. It’s been so long now, her mother Chrissandre is in a state. I don’t have words anymore.”
Roman disappeared on March 10, after going to a shop near her home.
