Ugandan Network Provider, Datanet, will be acquired by telecommunications giant Bringcom Incorporated.
Bringcom said a tentative arrangement had already been reached with the Ugandan company, which will give the American telecommunications giant an extended footprint in Uganda and Kenya.
Datanet has been at a forefront of telecommunications in that region for the greater part of the past decade, but the time has now come for a company like Bringcom to extend its global reach and Datanet provides the ideal platform for that objective to be realized.
“Datanet’s acquisition reflects BringCom’s strategy to expand its pan-African Carrier Ethernet network and international global connectivity services,” said Bringcom CEO Fabrice Langreney.
“BringCom’s investment in the region allows us to increase our ability to competitively service the stringent requirements of customers with challenging telecommunications applications,” added Langreney.
The banner for the new company? Bringcom Uganda, a company that will strive to provide affordable, reliable international connectivity services to corporations and government agencies in Africa and the Middle East.
