The 2017 Wear South African ‘Local Label Lover‘ fashion show stops over at Somerset Mall on the 20th May, to give fashionistas a taste of how trendy local brands are.
Fashion lovers attending the show will be given the opportunity to walk the runway in some of the designs and will also have a chance to win garments from the collection.
Old-time favourites Blue Collar White Collar, Magents, Democracy of Denim and Wear SA will be showcasing their 2017 collections. The line-up this year will feature two new labels NVme Bikini and Nineteen94.
NVme Bikini is designed and produced by South African duo Simone and Roxane van Rooyen, their range is 100% bamboo and hand crafted. The inspiration for the bikinis comes from warrior women and those willing to take up arms for the earth.
Nineteen94 under Lesley-Anne Mayer is a clothing brand that has serious street cred and offers a casual look. Nineteen94 is something for the old and young, the brand highlights the democratic evolution of trend and change arising from the spirit of the street.
Wayne van der Rheede Spokesperson for Wear SA, describes the event as way for people to see that that clothing designed and made in South Africa, is stylish and of excellent quality and adds that ” ‘affordable’ goes beyond the price point the garments are retailed at, as supporting homegrown manufactured goods has the benefit of stimulating the country’s economy. In 2017, there is no better time to become a #LocalLabelLover.”
