Australian bride Paige Kirk kicked convention to the curb by having her bridal party carry a bouquet of doughnuts as opposed to a bouquet of flowers.
The bride, 23, told BBC that she and her husband thought it would be something fun and different.
“Brides should be a bit more relaxed and have fun!” she said.
The bouquets were different and were well received.
“Everyone thought it was hilarious, and the venue couldn’t believe it,” Kirk said.
The doughnut bouquets were part of a competition run by a company aiming to create an alternative to flower gifts.
Kirk was the first bride to take a doughnut bouquet down the aisle.
What would be interesting to know is whether the idea of catching doughnuts rather than flowers changed the traditionally cringe-inducing bouquet toss for the single ladies into something more appealing?
