More sexual misconduct allegations surface against Kevin Spacey

A former employee at the The Old Vic theatre in London said that the theatre ignored all allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour made against House of Cards star Kevin Spacey

A former employee at the The Old Vic theatre in London said that the theatre ignored all allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour made against House of Cards star Kevin Spacey.

Spacey was the theatre's artistic director from 2003 to 2015. An employee told The Guardian that after witnessing Spacey grope men "many times" they were asked to keep quiet about it.

The employee, who wanted to remain anonymous, went on to say that Spacey took "advantage of the fact that he is this great icon. He touched men on the crotch. Doing it really fast so they couldn't get out of the way. The thing that really upsets me is the hypocrisy of places like The Old Vic that pretend now that they didn't know."

A spokesperson for The Old Vic told AFP that they have set up an email address where anyone with concerns about the Kevin Spacey allegations could come forward.

"Since we set up this confidential line of communication, we are already seeing the great benefits of the new policy of openness and the safe sharing of information."

Spacey came out as gay while addressing allegations of sexual misconduct laid against him by fellow actor, Anthony Rapp.

Rapp accused Spacey of an incident that reportedly took place at Spacey’s house in 1986. Spacey was 26 at the time and Rapp 14-years-old.

Spacey issued a statement via Twitter, addressing the matter.

In the statement, Spacey said that he respected Rapp as an actor and is “beyond horrified” after hearing his allegations.

“I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate, drunken behaviour, and I am sorry for feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.”

Another Hollywood figure also stepped forward and accused Spacey of groping him in a bar.

Documentary filmmaker Tony Montana claims that Spacey allegedly groped him at a pub in Los Angeles in 2003.

In an interview with Radar, Montana said that Spacey entered the  Coronet Pub with a group of his friends. He claims Spacey approached him while he was standing at the bar.

"I went up to order a drink and Kevin came up to me and put his arm around me. He was telling me to come with him, to leave the bar.

"He put his hand on my crotch forcefully and grabbed my whole package," Montana shared.

Montana said he decided to speak about the incident publicly after Anthony Rapp  came forward with his story.
