An Eastern Cape man appeared in court on Monday in connection with 40 rape charges.
The 28-year-old man appeared in the Grahamstown High Court.
The man is accused of 40 separate rape cases, with victims aged between 11 and 46. The incidents occurred over five years.
In total, he faces 67 charges, which include robbery and theft, assault and housebreaking with intent to rob, as well as rape.
The accused cannot not be named as he has not been asked to plead yet.
He was linked to all the rapes via DNA.
The case has been postponed to December 14.
