Mark Fish’s major tweet faux pas sparks new challenge

South African jazz legend Hugh Masekela passed away on Tuesday and as the tributes poured in from all over the world one tweet became the punchline for the day’s biggest joke.

Retired South African soccer player Mark Fish, on hearing the news that Mzansi’s father of jazz had passed on, chose to tweet a picture of himself with the legend as a tribute.

The problem? The former Bafana Bafana star used a picture with the wrong person!

Instead of using a picture of Bra Hugh, Mark used one with Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse instead.

Upon realising his mistake, the former soccer star deleted the tweet and apologised.

A while later, Sipho retweeted Mark’s tweet letting him know that he is very much alive and that his family and manager were available to provide confirmation.

But this is the digital age and twitterverse does not just forget. Mark’s very public social faux pas then spawned the #MarkFishChallenge, with social media users trying their hand out at the missed goal.
