Journalism Interns Wanted

SA Breaking News is seeking a number of confident journalism interns looking to do more than coffee runs. We need interns with a passion for news and a willingness to work at full steam for four hours per day to produce relevant, compelling and factually correct news content for publication.

Location: Foreshore, Cape Town, Western Cape
Remuneration: Unpaid
Duration: 3 Months with the possibility of a permanent position at the end of the internship period.


– Be in the final year of or have recently completed a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (journalism, media studies, English etc)
– Proven passion for writing (Blogging, content writing, research based essays)
– A hunger for news
– Able to produce grammatically and factually correct content
– Ability to write creative and original content while adhering to the general voice of the publication
– Must be able to investigate, research, and work independently
– Must be able to meet deadlines
– Willing to take instruction and eager to learn
– Understanding of social media
– A very deep hate for plagiarism

– English as a first language 

– Required to write a minimum of 4 original news articles per day, with guidance
– Conduct professional interviews (When you’re ready)
– Conduct his/her own research (Immediately)
– Take initiative
– Adhere to all company policies
– You may be required to complete assignments after hours
