Emtee left fans disappointed in Nelspruit

Metro FM Music Award-winning rapper Emtee did not pitch up at an event in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, this past Sunday, reportedly despite being paid in advance.

According to Daily Sun, event organiser Victor Zwane of Solid Groundz Musiq claims he organised a performance by Emtee, DJ City Lyts, B3nchMarQ and Miss Pru for Sunday afternoon, but they didn’t show up.

Neither Emtee nor any of these other artists arrived at the Scrapyard Lounge in Nelspruit. All four of them are from the same stable, Ambitiouz Entertainment.

Now the show organiser wants his R28 000 back, as well as the costs incurred. He is also demanding a free concert for all the fans who paid, and also an apology from the record company.

“We called Emtee and his manager BC, but both their phones were off,” Victor said.

After midnight, Victor eventually got hold of Emtee.

“He told me that his car had a puncture while he was on his way to the event. I had to apologise to the fans on their behalf but they were not happy. They started throwing bottles at us and damaged the venue,” Victor claimed.

Founder of Ambitiouz, Kgosi Mahumapelo, said they were involved in a crash on their way back from an event in Lesotho.

“We phoned Victor to explain our situation, but we were told the venue closed at 11pm. We told Victor that we would make it up to him with a free show this coming Sunday,” Kgosi said.
