Lorenzo Gordinho has welcomed the unexpected return of defender Eric Mathoho to full training, in addition to highlighting his importance for Kaizer Chiefs.
Tower was expected to be out for a couple of months following the ankle injury he sustained while on duty for the South Africa at the Rio Olympics.
“It’s obviously a boost to the team you know. Tower is an important part of the club and to the whole squad,” Gordinho told reporters.
“Just seeing him back it’s good because that injury was supposed to keep him out for a few months but it’s taken him much shorter for him to recover,” he said.
The defender also spoke about new acquisition Keagan Buchanan, who featured for Chiefs’ Multichoice Diski Challenge team in their 4-0 loss to Bidvest Wits on the weekend.
“He’s obviously adding value to the team and I’m happy to have him as much as I am happy to have Shabba back… he’s training, Keagan [Buchanan] is training.”
“So, the team is coming together and almost everybody is back on the field and it’s good for the club and also for the coach to have all the players he wants in his selection,” he concluded.
