South Africa youth international goalkeeper Darren Johnson has sent his well wishes to the Amajita squad ahead of their U20 FIFA World Cup campaign in South Korea.
The prestigious world youth tournament kicks off this weekend and the Ajax Cape Town keeper, who missed out on the final squad selection says he hopes Thabo Senong's squad can bring the trophy back to South Africa.
After missing out in the U20 AFCON tournament, the news comes as a bitter blow to Johnson's international aspirations but the teenager has taken the disappointment in his stride as he looks further towards developing within the Urban Warriors set-up.
Nonetheless, Johnson has still earned some valuable experience to bring home to Ikamva after being selected in the training squad in the Netherlands in preparation for the global showpiece.
"The camp was a success and the trip to Holland was a learning curve which helped for the preparations and good luck to the boys at the World Cup," he told the club's official website.
"Hopefully they will do the country proud by coming back with the cup."
