Cold front turns SA into a winter wonderland

A cold front that made landfall over the weekend brought the expected rain, but the resultant cold temperatures turned parts of South Africa into a winter wonderland.

Snow falls were also recorded across areas in the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape, with many taking to social media to share their videos and pics of the weather.

The South African Weather Service has warned the Western Cape to be on the alert for possible flooding in the Cape Metropole, Overberg and Winelands areas.

Minister of Environmental Affairs Edna Molewa has urged residents to stay warm as the cold front passes through the country over the next few days.
