Robert Mugabe to Zodwa Wabantu: ‘You just come without covering your decency’

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe said that he knew he was upsetting many people when he banned Zodwa Wabantu from performing in the country.

Speaking at a rally in Binduru, Mugabe said that he is against the fact that Zodwa’s brand is about wearing revealing clothing and not wearing panties.

“I’m sorry we disappointed many men… You just come without covering your decency. What do you want? Men to see you? We don’t want such,” he said.

Last month, the dancer revealed that she had been asked to attend an event in Zimbabwe. Many people warned Zodwa to put on her best behaviour as the president wouldn’t allow her revealing nature.

Speaking to local journalists, Zodwa said that before her trip to Zimbabwe many fans said that she should behave because Mugabe is a very strict man and he would not tolerate her “nonsense”.

“They were telling me that Mugabe does not allow nonsense. And as a result, I would not be allowed into Zimbabwe because I am too sexy. Some feel I will be half naked and that he (Mugabe) knows that I don’t wear panties.”
