#ThrowbackThursday: Beyonce feat. Jay Z Bonnie & Clyde


It’s been 15 years since the Queen and her King released their smash hit, Bonnie and Clyde.

The track was the lead single on Jay-Z’s seventh studio album, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse.

“All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend. Down to ride ’til the very end; just me and my boyfriend.”

The track was inspire by the film Bonnie and Clyde. The track also sampled it’s beat and lyrics from American rapper Tupac Shakur’s hit single, Me and My Girlfriend.

Bonnie and Clyde reached the number four spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It became Jay-Z’s second single to reach the top ten and this was Beyonce’s first single to reach the top ten as a solo artist.

Fans loved the track so much that it was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Bonnie and Clyde become the theme song for most couples around the world, with many men and women claiming that all they really need is their significant other.
