There is a new African National Congress (ANC) top six and everybody’s got their eyes on them to see what change they will bring to South Africa’s ruling party.

Cyril Ramaphosa secured 2 440 votes to become the next President of the African National Congress (ANC), at the party’s 54th National Conference on Monday.

He beat rival, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who could only muster 2 261 votes during the election.

Officials confirmed that 4708 of the 4776 delegates voted in this election. David Mabuza was voted in as the new Deputy President of the ANC, beating outsider Lindiwe Sisulu for the position.
