Missing Limpopo baby returned to police


The five-month-old baby snatched from it’s home in Modjadjiskloof outside Tzaneen by an unknown woman earlier this week has been returned safely.

The infant was returned to the custody of police at Mokwakwaila Police Station on Thursday morning.

According to police, the woman requested accommodation from the missing baby’s parents on Tuesday evening. The baby is believed to have been abducted while the mother went to the local supermarket, as upon her return home, both the woman and her baby were missing. 

The infant was returned to the police by the mother of the 24-year-old baby snatcher.

According to the 52-year-old woman, believed to be from the Mohlommeng Village in the Bolubedu area, her daughter came home with the infant and when later questioned about the baby, revealed that she snatched the child from a house in Madumeleng village.

The police’s Maphure Manamela says that police are still searching fo the suspect and called on anyone with information to come forward.
