Free State police are currently searching for three men who robbed security guards at Bram Fischer International Airport in Bloemfontein.
The incident occurred on Wednesday. The men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele confirmed the robbery. Makhele said that the security guards were transporting cash on behalf of the bank when the robbery took place.
The armed men approached the vehicle as it got off the plain. The robbers grabbed the bags from the security guards. Despite the fact that all the doors at the airport were locked. the men managed to escape through the main entrance,
The robbers fled in an Audi and a Mercedez Benz.
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) is currently investigating the matter.
