Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins has come out and said that India captain Virat Kohli will not score a century when the Asian side tours Down Under later this year.
Kohli’s team will play four Tests, three ODIs and three T20s in Australia from November this year with the India skipper set to resume his fiery rivalry with the home team.
The Aussies will be weakened by the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner due to them being banned with India seeing this as their best chance to win a Test series Down Under, which they have never done in 11 previous attempts.
Cummins though made his bold prediction even though Kohli is one of the best batsmen in world cricket.
Speaking in Sydney at a Channel 7 function, Cummins said: “My brave, bold prediction; I’d say I think Virat Kohli is not going to get a hundred and we’re going to knock them off over here.”
Legendary Australia seamer Glenn McGrath also spoke at the same function and said he would like to see how India react of they are pit under severe pressure by Australia.
McGrath said: “I want to see Australians put pressure on Kohli and just see how he handles it. It’s going to be a good, hard, tough series.
“Kohli has got a bit of an aggressive attitude, but showed last time he was out here he’s not going to take a backward step.”
