An Arizona school has now come under intense scrutiny, after one of its female teachers was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy.
Brittany Zamora (27) is already being dealt with by the law, having been charged with felonies for sexual conduct with a minor and molesting a child.
However, the boy’s parents want for there to be some consequences for the school too, as they believe it failed to protect their son or do any proper reporting on the matter as it unfolded.
The figure being bandied about for a lawsuit is 2.5-million dollars. Zamora is believed to have had intercourse with the boy and is still being detained by the police.
She had pleaded no guilty to all of the charges though and the trial is expected to start in November.
“It was preventable,” the family’s attorney Michael Medina told the Republic this week.
“We want to hold the school district accountable so this never happens again in the future,” added Medina.
