Seven teens rescued after being trapped in flooded cave


The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI)’s Gordon’s Bay crew rescued seven teenagers after they were trapped in a cave in the Gordon’s Bay area, Western Cape. 

The teenagers were trapped in a flooded cave at Dappat se Gat on Tuesday.

“On arrival, the NSRI personnel rescued the teenagers using ropes and safety equipment,” said NSRI spokesman, Craig Lambinon.

The teens, all aged 18,  were rescued and brought to where their anxious parents awaited their safe return.
