Police investigate after family gunned down in Eastern Cape

Police in the Eastern Cape have launched a manhunt for suspects who allegedly gunned down three family members inside their home. 

The incident occurred in Bityi on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena said that it is believed that two suspects gained entry into the family home by kicking down the door.

The suspects then fired shots at the husband, wife and their two daughters inside the house.

Both the husband and wife and their 41-year-old daughter were killed in the attacked. The 28-year-old daughter sustained injuries to her upper body and was taken to hospital for further medical care.

The motive behind the attack is not yet known.

Police investigations continue.
