Woman nabbed for smuggling liquid cocaine worth R4m into SA

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested after she was found in possession of liquid cocaine. 

According to reports, the suspect was caught at King Shaka International Airport in KwaZulu-Natal trying to smuggle the drugs into South Africa.

The woman arrived on an Emirates flight from Dubai. 

National police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said that the cocaine had an estimated street value of R4 million. 

“Members of the South African Police Service and Customs and Excise, acting on intelligence, searched the woman’s luggage and found liquid cocaine with an estimated street value of R4m concealed in shampoo bottles.” 

The suspect was arrested and charge for dealing in drugs as well as being in possession of drugs.

She made her first appearance on Tuesday and expected back in court on August 6.
