In Good Company’s Founder and CEO, Jabulile Gwala has announced that the highly anticipated #IGCExperience Business Festival, which was initially scheduled to take place in August at Steyn City, is now scheduled for Thursday 26 September at the same venue.
“This experience is one of the significant projects we do as a business. It’s an annual commitment to our community of businesswomen and it involves various stakeholders who play a critical role in ensuring its success. We had to take a bold step and move out the date to accommodate a few our partners, and while this may regrettably inconvenience some of our members, we promise to deliver the compelling experience that our delegates have come to expect. We assure our community that it will well be worth the wait. We also have a special treat planned for the day which will be revealed in the coming weeks,” says Gwala.
Renowned businesswomen and men will be sharing their stories of inspiration, struggles, hope and empowerment with female entrepreneurs attending the second edition of the In Good Company Experience.
This year’s #IGCExperience is about business connections, imparting knowledge and experiences, networking and having fun while working. According to Jabulile Gwala, founder and CEO of In Good Company, this platform is aimed at addressing various issues that women in the business face daily, and this is reflected by the topics that will be debated at this festival.
Comments Gwala “As a businesswoman, I have met with numerous challenges in the workplace, and I could not leave things to chance. I had to be the catalyst for change that I wanted to see. It is for this reason that I established this platform, where we get to engage in deep, meaningful discussions that will ultimately grow and build us as successful female entrepreneurs.”
“This year’s programme is purposely designed to allow for networking amongst ourselves; to help our members grow confidence, learn and have fun. This is why we’ve partnered with Steyn City and the 7% Tribe, a movement aiming to advance women in the workplace.” The 7% Tribe was established last year by Tammy Menton, Group Head of Marketing and Events at Steyn City.
Comments Menton, “The response to last year’s launch of the 7% tribe proved the need for such a platform. This year, we’re looking to increasing the efficacy of the movement so that members reap even greater benefits and no better opportunity this year than to partner with In Good Company. The 7% Connect is one of our tools for making sure this is the case. This business speed dating technology is the ideal vehicle for fostering collaboration between women, empowering females and creating new networks, ultimately helping more South African women succeed.”
The event will further feature panel discussions around topical issues such as self-care in this fast-paced time of dream chasing and goal smashing. The panel will comprise Nkateko ‘Takkies’ Dinwiddy – founder of Rockingnheels Dance Workout, best known as one of the Top 16 contestants of the second season of the So You Think You Can Dance Competition in 2010. She will be joined by Lesedi Mashale, entrepreneur and head of PR, events and influencers at Diageo and Danielle Weakley, Editor of Women’s Health magazine.
“We want to tackle the topic of looking after yourself while you are going for that top position, after all, health is the ultimate wealth,” says Gwala.
The ever-vibrant Lynette Ntuli, founding director and CEO of Innate Investment Solutions, and globally renowned artist Nelson Makamo will be talking on the topic of The New African Narrative, which is expected to keep audiences engaged and intrigued.
The event will be hosted by Lynette Ntuli. Other influential speakers featured include Nadia Mohamed: Commercial Director McCain, Nokky Nokthula, founder of Limit Breakers, social entrepreneur and technology executive, Zinhle Jiyane DJ and businesswoman, Tammy Menton: Head of Marketing Steyn City and Founder of 7% Tribe; Tebogo Malope, award-winning film Director, among others.
The festival will take place from 10:00 until 17:00 and those who secure their slots for the business speed-dating sessions will have the opportunity to meet their mentors and role models until 16:00. These slots are limited, so attendees are encouraged to purchase their tickets soon to avoid disappointments.
