The South African government has once again condemned violence against women and children following the murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana.
Taking to social media, on their official account, the government sent out their "deepest condolences".
On Monday a 42-year-old man appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates Court, where he confessed to sexually assaulting and murdering the 19-year-old.
Taking to Twitter, The South African government said "May her soul rest in peace. Government condemns any form of violence against women and children.
The suspect was an employee at the Clareinch Post Office where Mrwetyana was last seen over a week ago.
