President of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Dr Peter Magombeyi has been freed after being allegedly abducted.
The abduction of the doctor is said to have lead to days of protests in the country.
The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum said that Dr Magombeyi was released into the custody of his lawyers.
On Saturday, Magombeyi was allegedly abducted by state security agents. However, Zimbabwe’s government and police have denied involvement in Magombeyi’s disappearance.
Speaking to media outlet VOA, the doctor shared memories of his ordeal.
“I remember being in a basement of some sort, being electrocuted at some point, that is what I vividly remember. I, I just don’t remember,” said Dr Magombeyi.
